
Vineyard: The steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie are famous for its terraced vineyards overlooking the Rhône River. Nalys is a cuvée from three exceptional terroirs: 'Nalys' (36%) with red Comtat sandstone and crocodile soils, 'Bois Sénéchal' (37%) and 'La Crau' (27%) with soils of ancient clay pebbles of the Rhône, the famous galets roulés.
Varietal composition: 40% Roussanne, 40% Grenache Blanc, 18% Clairette and 2% Picardan & Picpoul.
Vineyard average age is 45 years.
Vinification: Harvesting by hand, pressing and clarification of the must before vinification and 8 months of maturation 70% in wood (barrels and wooden tanks) and 30% in stainless steel.
Tasting notes : Pale gold colour, clear and bright. Intense bouquet of white flowers and citrus fruits with a lovely vanilla note. Very expressive, it continues with white currant, honeyed peach, toasted brioche and a salty, mineral character that carries on more strongly on the palate. Rich, full-bodied with elegance and length. Wonderfully balanced.
Pairs with : asparagus salads, dishes with butter sauce, light risotto, matured goat cheeses.
