Product description

Chateau Fourcas Dupre and wine are part of a special history within a bucolic setting 35 km from Bordeaux. At the beginning of the 13th century, vines appeared at “Fourcas” region.

The name “Fourcas Dupré” came into being in 1843 when Maître Jean Antoine Dupré became the owner. Taken over by the Pagès family in 1970, the estate continued to uphold the same ethos of precision, expertise and passion.

In 2019, Breton entrepreneur Gérard Jicquel purchased the estate. A long-time wine afficionado, he has a strong passion for Bordeaux wines.

The 2016 vintage of Bordeaux is widely considered to be excellent. The winter had high rainfall and typically high temperatures, conditions that continued during the spring. The abundant rainfall did not affect yields, which remained at very good levels.  A hot and dry summer followed, which balanced the water content in the soil from the rains and helped the ripening process.

For reds, this was one of the best years on record in Bordeaux. Rich, full-bodied, ripe red fruit and very well integrated tannins combined with balanced acidity and excellent ageability.

The 2016 wines should not be missing from your cellar!

91/100 points - Decanter
