Until recently Bin 311 Chardonnay was based on Tambarumba grapes but the producers' desire to create a crisp, fruity wine that would be highlighted by the cool Australian climate led them to this combination.
Vineyard: As we are talking about a combination of 3 different Chardonnays we have three different Penfolds vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, Tambarumba and Tasmania regions of Australia.
Vinification:This wine was aged for 8 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which was used for the first time.
Features: It has a very light golden color and intense aroma of lemon and other citrus fruits, nuts and honeycomb due to the barrel ageing. All these aromas can be found in the taste. The citrus acidity comes in perfect balance with a sweet white peach flavour and the aftertaste of French oak and mineral acid. Making the 3 Chardonnay blend a great combination.
Pair it with: Roast chicken, aged cheddar or the classic English dish of fish and chips.
Aging: Enjoy from now until 2027
