Vineyard: Its vineyard is 39 hectares on a south facing slope and consists of clay, limestone and sandy soil. There lie Merlot vines planted in 1918 and Cabernet Franc vines of 60 years of age.
Vinification: Fermentation takes place in a variety of oak vats, stainless steel and concrete tanks. Then the wine matures for 18-24 months in new oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Deep purple color. Complex nose with hints of red fruit, sweet spices and smoke. On the palate it shows medium acidity, ripe tannins, full body, intense notes of black fruit, sweet spices and wood while it has very long aftertaste.
Paired with: Cooked or grilled red meat dishes as well as mushroom dishes.
Served at: 16ο-18ο C.
Cellier Notes: The 2016 harvest is one of Bordeaux's finest with tremendous ageing potential! The team of Angelus named the ’16 “The Radiant” (Le Rayonnant). 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc.
