Vineyard: As one of the oldest wineries in Austria, Schloss Gobelsburg has several historical vineyard sites around the castle. Every site has its specialties and particularities with different soil and micro-climatic conditions. The vineyard from which the Grüner Veltliner grapes are harvested has a special microclimate creating ideal conditions for the production of Eiswein.
Vinification: Grüner Veltliner is especially good for Eiswein. Because of this variety’s thick skin, the grapes can hang on the vines for a very long time without any damage occurring.
Tasting Notes: A very unique aromatic bouquet of stewed stone fruit mixed with honey and floral aromas. On the palate, sweet and elegant with the acidity maintaining the perfect balance.
