
Vineyard: "Les Grèves" is one of the 44 premier cru vineyards of the Beaune appellation of origin. This mild hillside has south-east exposure and poor gravelly soil on limestone subsoil.
Beaune Les Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus 1er Cru is located on sandier soil than the other Les Grèves.
Vinification: Following total or partial destemming on the vintage, fermentation in small containers, gentle pressing ensure optimal vinification. Depending on the profile of the vintage, vatting lasts 15 to 20 days.
Matures 12 to 14 months in French oak, with 30 to 50% new oak.
Tasting notes: Bursting aromas are reminiscent of sweet blackberries, flowers, orange zest and sweet spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy mouthfeel. With ripe tannins, accentuated acidity and a long, mouthwatering finish.
Pairs with: Feathered game, dishes with slightly spicy sauces and forest fruit based sauces.
Enjoy at: 17-18°C.
Ageing: Drink now and will continue to evolve for the next 15 years.
