Product description

Vineyard: Pommard's 27 Premier cru vineyards are based on calcareous and clayey soils rich in iron. They are located at an altitude of 250 to 330 metres, facing south and east.

Vinification: Manual harvesting followed by partial or total destemming (depending on the vintage). This is followed by classic red vinification in small tanks. Maturation lasts 12-14 months in French oak barrels, 30-40% of which are new.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby red colour with deep purple reflections. Aromas of ripe red & black fruits, moist earth, mushrooms, coffee beans, sweet spices and oak. The palate is rich and deep, the acidity is integrated and the tannins are velvety. Taste full of small forest fruits & minerality before concluding on a medium to long finish.

Pairs with: Braised game and red meats, luscious cheeses like Comté.

Serve at: 17-18°C.

Ageing: The 2016 vintage has a decade of ageing potential and will be at its optimum point to enjoy from now and for the next 5-6 years.
