Vineyard: Unlike most premium wines that come from a single vineyard or even small blocks of a vineyard, Grange 2017 is made from 100% Shiraz & sourced from the best grapes from the Barossa Valley (86%) & McLaren Vale (14%) vineyards.
Vinification: Classic red vinification, followed by maturation which takes place in new 300 litre American barrels and lasts 18 months.
Tasting notes: Deep (almost opaque) red colour. The bouquet is an intense combination of ripe gooseberries, blueberries and wild blackberries, black olives, sage and liquorice, notes of sandalwood, vanilla and coffee. The palate is full-bodied with medium acidity, robust tannins and a lingering aftertaste with a slightly spicy touch.
Pairs with: Grilled red meats, game or mushroom dishes
Enjoy at: 16-18°C.
Peak drinking: 2027-2060!
