
In 1998, Penfolds imported a heritage selection of vine cuttings from South Australia’s esteemed Kalimna and Magill Estate vineyards and planted them in Californian soil.
Vineyard: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon & 17% Shiraz from Napa Valley, Sonoma & Paso Robles.
Vinification: Classic red vinification, followed by maturation which takes place in 300 litre American barrels (40% first use) and lasts 17 months.
Tasting Notes: Critics have praised Bin 600 for its excellence. Wine Advocate awards 93 points, praising its sweet and rich red berry character. Decanter awards 95 points, praising its impeccable marriage of rich red, blue and black fruits.
Pairs with: Grilled red meats, and big game, aged yellow cheeses and deep-aged charcuterie.
Enjoy at: 16-18°C.
Ageing: at least a decade.
