Coonwarra in South Australia still remains the precious source of grapes for Shiraz Bin 128, since the wine was first produced in 1962!
2018 was an excellent year for Coonawarra with ideal conditions for the ripening of the fruit. Rainfall distribution was very good during the winter and spring, providing the vines with sufficient supplies to cope with the hot summer. The winter was cold, providing a good dormancy.
Vineyard: The Coonawarra region, known as terra rossa because of its soil, is a typical model of the aromas, clarity and alluring nature of red wines from cold climate regions.
Tasting Notes: Deep red color. Generous on the nose, with the bouquet composed of plum, raisin, black truffle and dark chocolate notes. The palate is dominated by red and black berries, while well-integrated tannins give the wine a well-structured body.
Paired with: Hunt, roasted lamb leg with rosemary, rib-eye, beef with vegetables or ragout.
Enjoy at: 18°C.
Ageing: Up to 2035!
