Distilled from 100% blue weber agave, that comes from Tequila Valley and is cooked in stone/brick oven after a 100% stone crush. This method is known as “tajona process”, one of the oldest ways to make tequila. The spirit is double distilled in copper pots and the fermentation takes place in open-air wood tanks. All the sugars are of the agave. The bottles are hand-blown in Mexico. Each lot individually aged in American Oak of used whiskey barrels.
Nose: Aromas of citrus, caramel, butter, cooked agave, and sage are the beginning of a pleasingly balanced and very unique tasting experience. Fortaleza Reposado has its own distinct character, and is not like any other tequila.
Taste: Flavors include cooked agave, citrus, vanilla, apple, earth, and cinnamon
Aftertaste: The finish is long and rich, delicately spicy, and it has an oily texture that make this a joy to drink.
