In 1888 Spyros Metaxa creates, possibly, the smoothest amber spirit under the Sun. Ever since, the art of wine-making, distilling, ageing and blending creates the unique brandy METAXA.

It is made of raisins (sultanina, savatiano and mavri korinthiaki). It is distilled twice in traditional nymphs and then the distillate is aged in handmade barrels from 3-30 years. The aged muscat wine from the Aegean islands, soft water, a secret mixture of herbs and rose petals are mixed with aged spirits for more than 6 months. Prior to bottling, the mixture is cooled to -8°C for 48 hours. It is then  filtered, bottled and gets anamber color with bronze reflections. 

Nose: Bright aromas of ripe peach, plum and dried flowers create a unique bouquet. 

Palate: Its full flavour is characterized by sweet, ripe fruit and butter candy. 

Aftertaste: The lasting and generous fruit-flavoring is the final touch to a unique brandy.
