Vinification: Classic red vinification. Aged in 400-litre Austrian Stockinger casks for 14 months.
Tasting notes: Dark cherry red. Fabulous aroma: rich, spicy and generous in dark fruit, light note of black olives and wild herbs giving it a savoury cast, slightly floral too with cigar box on the aftertaste. If this means anything at all, it smells like velvet. The texture is like deep-pile velvet too, gloriously seductive and caressing, rich and unctuous but still has enough freshness for overall harmony. On the second day after opening, the tannins had become much more silky and I think this would benefit from decanting.
