Origin: Coastal Region.
Winemaker’s notes: Harvested in the early morning at optimum ripeness and destemmed, not crushed, to enhance fresh berry characters. Fermented for 5 days on skins at 23-25°C and then pressed before dryness to maintain soft tannins. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then matured for almost a year in small French barrels to further aid in the development of structure and soften the tannins.
Tasting notes: The grapes have been manually harvested for this Pinotage, selected from premium Cape vineyards. Deep red with a purple hue, rich aromas of boysenberry and rooibos gently supported with vanilla oak notes, a concentrated yet soft palate and a long berry fruit finish. This full, rich, yet velvety Pinotage is perfect to accompany any meat dish, especially game.
